03 - First Hit

Just as Jessica predicted, she was having trouble finding Valerie in these early seconds of the first round. She came close a few times, but Valerie always managed to place herself just outside the reach of Jessica’s punches. Up until this point, Valerie hadn’t even thrown a single punch of her own yet, but seemed to amuse herself simply with dodging Jessica’s.

Finally, Valerie decided to throw a jab or two, but she purposefully made sure to do so outside her own maximum range, with the idea of throwing Jessica further off her scent. The plan worked, and as Jessica stepped in to close distance after Valerie’s failed jabs, she was caught off-guard as Valerie simultaneously stepped in at a lower angle. Jessica tried to get her hands up, but Valerie used her greater speed to get there first, sinking in two body blows just below Jessica’s bustline.
